Product Description
Nancheng Machinery supplies PET preform injection molds, bottle cap injection molds and PET bottle blow molds for beverage and liquid packaging production.
Our mold solutions are designed for bottled water, carbonated soft drinks, juice, tea, edible oil and other PET packaging applications. Mold specifications can be customized according to bottle volume, preform weight, neck finish, cap design, cavity quantity, production capacity and the customer’s existing injection molding or bottle blowing machine.
For beverage manufacturers planning a new bottling plant, the mold should not be considered as an isolated component. The preform, neck finish, cap and finished bottle must work together with the bottle blowing machine, filling machine and capping system.
Nancheng Machinery can therefore support customers from bottle and preform design to mold configuration, bottle blowing and complete beverage production line integration.
A complete PET bottle package normally involves three closely related tooling systems.
The PET preform injection mold produces the preform that later enters the bottle blowing process. The cap injection mold produces the plastic closure that matches the bottle neck finish. The PET bottle blow mold defines the final bottle shape, volume, panel structure and appearance.
Matching these three components correctly helps maintain stable bottle dimensions, reliable capping and smooth operation on high-speed filling lines.
Mold Type | Main Process | Typical Material | Main Application |
|---|---|---|---|
PET Preform Injection Mold | Injection molding | PET | Water, CSD, juice, oil and beverage preforms |
Bottle Cap Injection Mold | Injection molding | HDPE / PP | Water caps, CSD caps, juice caps and special closures |
PET Bottle Blow Mold | Stretch blow molding | PET preform | Finished PET beverage bottles |
Mold designs can be developed according to customer samples, 2D drawings, 3D bottle files or a completely new bottle packaging concept.
The PET preform injection mold is one of the most important tools in a PET bottle production system.
Molten PET resin is injected into multiple precision cavities to produce preforms with the required weight, neck finish and wall thickness distribution. These preforms are then reheated and stretched inside a bottle blowing machine to form finished bottles.
Small dimensional differences at the preform stage can directly affect bottle blowing performance. For this reason, mold cavity consistency, cooling balance, hot runner design and neck accuracy must all be considered during mold engineering.
Nancheng Machinery can configure PET preform molds for applications including drinking water bottles, carbonated beverage bottles, hot-fill bottles, juice bottles, edible oil bottles and larger PET containers.
PET preform molds can be configured with different cavity quantities according to the required production output and injection molding machine capacity.
Lower cavity quantities are suitable for small and medium production plants, product development or specialized bottle formats. Higher cavity configurations are designed for continuous industrial production where preform output and cycle stability become more important.
The correct number of cavities depends on more than required pieces per hour. Injection unit capacity, clamping force, preform weight, cooling capacity, mold dimensions and available cycle time must also be checked.
A properly designed hot runner distributes PET melt evenly to each mold cavity.
For high-output preform production, a balanced hot runner and valve-gate configuration can improve cavity-to-cavity consistency and reduce gate defects. Stable temperature control is especially important because PET processing is sensitive to temperature variation.
The hot runner specification should be selected according to mold cavity quantity, preform weight and injection machine configuration.
Cooling often represents a significant part of the PET preform molding cycle.
The cooling circuit should remove heat consistently from every cavity while avoiding large temperature differences between different positions in the mold.
An optimized cooling structure helps achieve stable preform dimensions, consistent crystallinity around the neck area and shorter production cycles.
Core inserts, cavity inserts and neck components can be designed for convenient replacement and maintenance.
For production plants running continuously, interchangeable wear components can reduce maintenance downtime because damaged or worn parts can be serviced without replacing the complete mold.
The final specification is selected according to the customer's bottle, preform and injection molding machine.

The bottle cap injection mold produces plastic closures used for bottled water, carbonated drinks, juice, edible oil and other packaged liquids.
Cap molding appears simple, but the dimensions are highly sensitive. Thread profile, tamper-evident band, sealing surface, bridge thickness and cap diameter all influence sealing performance.
If the cap geometry does not correctly match the bottle neck, common problems can include leakage, excessive opening torque, loose caps, damaged tamper bands or unstable operation inside an automatic capping machine.
For this reason, Nancheng Machinery evaluates the cap and bottle neck as one matching system.
Water bottle caps are commonly produced from HDPE or PP.
The mold must maintain consistent thread geometry and sealing dimensions across all cavities. For high-speed bottling plants, the finished caps must also feed smoothly through the cap elevator, sorting system, chute and capping heads.
Both cap dimensions and cap surface geometry should therefore be checked against the downstream capping machine.
Carbonated beverage closures operate under internal bottle pressure.
The cap, thread and sealing structure must provide reliable closure performance while maintaining suitable application and opening torque.
The bottle neck, cap design, carbonation level and filling conditions should be evaluated together before the final mold is manufactured.
In addition to standard beverage closures, customized molds can be developed for applications such as larger bottle caps, oil caps, pull-ring caps and special plastic closures.
The required mold structure depends on the closure geometry and whether the product contains complex features such as tamper bands, pull rings or multi-part structures.

Before mold production, customers should provide the bottle neck drawing or physical samples whenever possible. This allows the engineering team to verify the thread profile, sealing surface and closure dimensions.
A finished PET beverage bottle is normally not manufactured directly by injection molding.
Instead, PET resin is first injection molded into a preform. The preform is then reheated, stretched and expanded with high-pressure air inside a PET bottle blow mold.
The blow mold determines the final bottle volume, body diameter, shoulder shape, base geometry, label area and decorative features.
Nancheng Machinery supplies customized PET bottle molds for water, juice, carbonated beverages and other PET packaging applications.
The molds can be matched with our PET bottle blowing machine and configured as part of a complete beverage production project.
Customers can provide an existing bottle sample or a 2D/3D drawing.
For new factories or new beverage brands, bottle design can also be developed according to required filling volume, bottle diameter, bottle height, neck standard, labeling method and packaging format.
The final design should also consider downstream conveying and filling requirements.
A bottle that looks attractive but has unstable dimensions may create problems at the air conveyor, transfer star wheels, labeling machine or packing section.
The inner cavity surface directly determines the external bottle geometry.
Precision CNC machining helps maintain consistent dimensions between cavities. Surface treatment and polishing requirements can be selected according to the bottle appearance and application.
For bottles with complex ribs, grip sections or embossed logos, the mold design must allow these details to form consistently without compromising demolding.
During stretch blow molding, the hot PET preform contacts the bottle mold and rapidly cools into its final shape.
Cooling channel distribution affects bottle surface temperature and production cycle stability.
A well-designed cooling circuit is particularly important for automatic bottle blowing machines operating continuously at higher speeds.
Beverage factories often produce several bottle sizes on one production line.
A practical mold configuration should therefore allow operators to change bottle formats without excessive downtime.
When neck finish remains unchanged, bottle format changes can often be completed by replacing the bottle blow mold and adjusting the blowing machine recipe and downstream handling parts.

Different beverages require different PET packaging designs.
For bottled water, lightweight packaging and material efficiency are often important. The preform weight, bottle wall distribution and base geometry should be optimized to reduce resin consumption while maintaining bottle rigidity.
For carbonated soft drinks, the bottle must withstand internal CO₂ pressure. Preform design, bottle base geometry and wall distribution therefore require careful control.
For juice and hot-fill beverages, the bottle may need to tolerate elevated product temperatures. Bottle panel design and material distribution should take thermal shrinkage and vacuum deformation into account.
Nancheng Machinery can coordinate mold specifications with the downstream water filling machine, juice filling machine or carbonated beverage filling system.
This integrated approach reduces the risk of purchasing a bottle package that works during laboratory testing but becomes unstable on an automatic production line.
For a new beverage project, purchasing a mold is only one part of the packaging system.
The complete process begins with the required beverage, bottle volume and expected production capacity.
Our engineering team can then evaluate the bottle design, preform specification, cap format, bottle blowing system and filling line together.
For example, a 500 mL water bottle project may require a lightweight PET preform, 28 mm neck finish, matching HDPE cap, PET bottle blow mold and automatic bottle blowing machine.
After bottle production, the bottles must transfer smoothly to rinsing, filling, capping, labeling and packing equipment.
By considering all these stages from the beginning, customers can avoid compatibility problems between independently purchased equipment and packaging materials.
Selecting a mold only by cavity quantity can result in an incorrect configuration.
Start with the final bottle and production requirement.
The supplier should know the bottle volume, bottle shape, neck finish, preform weight and expected output. The available injection molding machine is equally important because mold dimensions, clamping force and shot capacity must match the machine.
Cooling water conditions should also be considered. Increasing mold cavities without sufficient cooling capacity will not automatically increase usable production output.
For a new beverage factory, it is often more effective to size the injection system according to actual bottle blowing and filling demand instead of selecting the largest possible mold.

If no final bottle design is available, Nancheng Machinery can discuss the packaging requirements before determining the mold configuration.
Nancheng Machinery works with beverage manufacturers from the packaging design stage through complete production line commissioning.
This means our engineering focus is not limited to whether a mold can produce a preform, cap or bottle.
We also consider whether the finished packaging can operate reliably with bottle blowing, conveying, rinsing, filling, capping, labeling and packing equipment.
This is particularly useful for new beverage factories that prefer one supplier to coordinate the main packaging and bottling equipment.
Our project support can include bottle and packaging consultation, mold matching, bottle blowing equipment, filling machines, labeling machines, packing equipment, factory layout, FAT, installation and commissioning.
The price of a PET preform mold, cap mold or bottle blow mold depends on its technical configuration.
For PET preform molds, major cost factors include cavity quantity, preform weight, hot runner design, neck structure, mold steel and injection machine compatibility.
For cap molds, price depends on cavity quantity, closure structure, runner system, tamper-evident design and cap dimensions.
PET bottle blow mold cost mainly depends on cavity quantity, bottle size, mold material, machining complexity and compatibility with the bottle blowing machine.
For an accurate quotation, send us your bottle sample, preform drawing, cap drawing or equipment model.
We can then recommend the appropriate mold structure instead of quoting a generic mold that may not match your production system.
A PET preform injection mold is a precision multi-cavity mold used to manufacture PET preforms from PET resin. The finished preforms are reheated and stretch blow molded into bottles.
Most PET beverage bottles use a two-stage process. PET resin is first injection molded into a preform. The preform is then reheated and stretch blow molded into the final bottle. Therefore, the finished bottle normally uses a PET blow mold rather than a conventional bottle injection mold.
The cavity quantity depends on required output, preform weight and injection molding machine capacity. Small and medium production systems may use fewer cavities, while industrial high-output systems use higher-cavity molds.
Yes. Bottle samples, preforms, caps, technical drawings or 3D files can be used as references for mold engineering. Key dimensions should be confirmed before manufacturing.
In many cases, yes. If bottle neck finish and preform characteristics are suitable, one preform can potentially be used for several bottle shapes by changing the bottle blow mold and blowing parameters. The final feasibility depends on bottle volume, stretch ratio and wall distribution.
Preform molds can be designed according to common beverage neck finishes such as PCO 1810, PCO 1881 and other water or beverage neck standards. Final specifications should match the customer's cap and filling system.
HDPE and PP are commonly used for beverage and liquid packaging closures. The exact resin should be selected according to closure design, sealing requirements and application.
